Articles: ModuleStudio 0.5.4 has been released

Contributed by Guite on Nov 29, 2011 - 12:25 AM

Development

We are happy to announce that a new version of ModuleStudio is available. The new version includes many bugfixes and minor improvements, but also some new features.

Pushed by some discussions in the German Zikula forums we realised an import from table structures of existing modules into ModuleStudio. Together with Robert Gasch we implemented that quite quickly and reasonable by using a bridge via XML files. But there are some more exciting news...

ModuleStudio

Beside other things this version includes the following highlights:

  • Import of table structure of existing modules described above.
  • Further improvements and simplifications for the application model creation wizard.
  • There are list fields now, for modeling dropdown lists (single and multiple) and checkbox lists.

Please read more at the release page.

You are recommended to upgrade to MOST 0.5.4 as soon as possible. Note you need Zikula 1.3.2-dev for running generated applications properly.

Enjoy it! We are looking forward to your feedback icon_wink

Import
congrats,
the table import sounds really nice. Does it also work with old tables (like zikula 1.1 or zikula 1.2? ). I still have a website with zk112 with some homebrew modules that I need to convert.

This would certainly ease the pain a little icon_smile

I did not test it that comprehensively, but I think it should work in general. Just try it out icon_wink

zk112 pntables import
Hi, I did try with the conversion to XML, but with these old modules it did not work out of the box. Have to check in more detail what is happening. But they are not complicated, so redoing it in MOST (or even Clip) might be easier anyhow.

Could you please explain at which stage things did not work properly? Converting pntables to the XML file or importing the XML file inside MOST? Did you receive any error messages?

Hi, the pntables to XML did not work in my case. I does not give any sensible XML output. Could very well be my old pntables file. I did digg a little into the pntables2xml script, but could not find why it didnt convert nicely.
I think manually setting up the tables is faster than digging more into the pntables2xml script icon_wink

So probably MOST works fine icon_smile
