This has kind of been covered in the roadmap, but here goes:

    - integrated Forum included with the package, or is available as a separate download- instead of hunting down the "best" one which may not remain in production (like XForum).

    - really, really focus on theme templating engine (we really are starting to make PN sites look good now that some theming engines are being released).

    - better static document management; include modules that function like ew_filemanager and Content Express

I know this is redundant, but everything else in PN is so good that these are the main areas where it seems to have some limitations.

BTW- thanks go out to all past and present developers for their great work in this project! PN rules!!!

Had you done a search and read more news and comments, you would have found some interesting tidbits of information that address the issues you brought up.

A forthcoming release of PN will have a templating engine included. It should be out within the next month or so if the developers hold to their timetable.

For static document management, see PostWrap.

As far as a forum, the developers of PN have wisely decided not to include one. No single forum will meet everyone's needs and even phpBB, the one used here, has major flaws. Letting everyone make their own choice is preferable to having to remove an unwanted piece of software. Also, the forthcoming data bridge will make it easier to use any PHP forum with PN.

Yes, I did a search before posting. I've checked pnGuide and the forums and did not find the answer to my question(s).
