Hi there,
I just had an idea that I would like to share with you people. Why not expand the options of attributes to the user groups?
For example, a neat idea would be to add the option of network addresses to identify a group or user.
Let's suppose I have an extranet with 3 sites. I could define a group for each of these subnets as follows:
SITE SUBNET GROUP
-------- --------------------- ---------------
London 192.168.100.0/24 LondonUsers
Berlin 192.168.200.0/24 BerliUsers
Paris 192.168.300.0/24 ParisUsers
We could expand dramatically the flexibility of
PostNuke. For example, we could define a default language for a unregistered user (a registered user would use his preferred language instead) that is comming from one of these subnets. Wecould define menu options and other security settings.
Also, we could deny users, for example, we could deny a host form london by adding his IP address as follows:
192.168.100.12/32 -- then setting security levels on this host!
What do you guys think?
