HI all,
I have been trying out many different themes for 7.2.3. ABout half the time the screen is blank after I set the new theme. I can easily reinstall the site or use the Swiss Army Knife I have seen here... but does anyone know why my system braeks on what seems to be very popular and bullet proof themes?
Thanks for any insight.

There's so many themes, and usually they haven't been over all of them to make them current. Postnuke is still evolving, not yet at version 1. They probably run an old version too. For instance,
http://www.psiborg.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=246
has plenty of themes, but they run PN 0.71, and updating all themes properly can be a lot of work. I downloaded the theme packs, and there's a ton of 'dead' themes or in need of restoration. It just needs someone to do the work, I guess.
It's only "bullet proof" for the system it was designed for!
