AGAIN!SOS! Permissions -Block key:Block title:Block ID- how?  Bottom

  • Please, I need help!

    I've made a new generic menu block called 'egwillie' (ID 21) and only want it to show to a specific user group.
    The documentation says - Block key:Block title:Block ID - should be the right way to set permissions on any blocks.
    But the syntax - users blocks:: - menu:egwillie:21 - none - doesn't work.

    Has really nobody got knowledge for me & my problem?
  • To hide a block i think you type
    All Realms | Group | Menublock:: | Blockname:: | None
  • YES, OF COURSE!
    It worked, as easy as that....
    I'm happy!
    THANKS!
  • what worked Dazzled?

    when you resolve an issue, please post what you did so others might benefit from your solution ;)
  • I had the same problem... It would really help if everyone used the same "Names" for the items.... for instance, I can't find out what the "Block Key" is anywhere! It is not listed in the "Blocks" Administration or even in "View Blocks". Neither is the Block ID (I just happened to see the ID in the status bar when I clicked on it.) I also couldn't find it defined anywhere in the PostNuke Manual. However in the "Permissions Information" that is the field that is given to be used! It's like playing a game of "Hit & Miss"! How about adding it to the "Blocks" section of the manual? OR at least the "Permissions" Section? Things like that would save us all tons of time. :) Thanks!
