I've seen a couple of posts on this with the search function, but sadly no answers.
I am running a small mailing list thing, and want to have a signup in a block on the main page to allow people to just enter their email and click a button.
So how can you put PHP that connects and writes to the database in a block or otherwise display it?
You help is much appreciated! -

I think you misunderstand the question ...I already have a mailing list prog, a little script a friend wrote. What I want is to be able to place the PHP signup script that needs to talk to the database in a block. Is this possible? -

Excuse me. If you have got the app, perhaps ask your friend...
Does this mail list store data? or picks data from pn_users?
And BTW, what this mail list do that a public module like ppnews does not, and how do you integrate your script into PN?
Perhaps from a misfunction or misunderstanding, we can discover some progress...

I'll rephrase ...forget all the previous stuff, I'm using a particular mailing list because that's what I want to use.
Does anyone know a way to display a PHP script that connects to the database in a block or otherwise on the main page (news)?
Thank you :). -
