This is the error message I get when I try to restore my SQL database into an empty database with phpmyadmin:
What was the SQL file created with? The comments put into an export from MySQL on the command line don't necessarily work when importing with phpMyAdmin and vice versa.
Try trimming all the comments out of the SQL file and see if this helps.

Thx for replying markwest but I got it working a long time ago and consider myself no longer as a MySQL newbie. More like a MySQL almost nebie.
I got it working as I said but can't remember what was wrong.
Only thing I feel pretty sure about was that it was NOT a phpMyAdmin problem. It is more likely it was a usermistake (by me)
*lol*
I actually now find it quite comfortable to work with SQL databases. One month ago I would never had thought that possible. Amazing what endless of hours infront a computer will do to you.

Sorry about that didn't notice the date on the original post as it has been pushed back to the top.
