I wonder if anyone is willing to work on migrating Zikula 1.1.2 version with 1600 PagEd articles in the datatabase with the latest version of WordPress?
To my knowledge there is no import feature available for WordPress to import "custom" databases, even tough they offer import widgets for most well known CMS systems.
This would of course be paid work.

You are looking in the wrong place. I'll bet there are no more the 10 people affiliated with Zikula (maybe less) that could jump into a project like you want completed. You would be better off going to the WordPress site to find a programmer. I'm thinking that hiring an actual database programmer would be your cheapest. -

Perhaps an easy way to do the migration is to just rename the columns the PagEd table, to match the structure of the WordPress table. From there, you just need to be concerned about mapping categories and tags you already have assigned (if any).
Both Zikula and WordPress use MySQL, so you could make the column changes, in bulk, via an online tool such as phpMyAdmin. -

It's a more complicated then that. I'm guessing you could do some of this manually but you need to figure out how much your time is worth. -

I know it is possible, I know it takes time, and I believe I am searching in the right place. I have been with PHP-Nuke, then Postnuke and then Zikula many years ago and this is where I have searched for support. I do think it is more important to understand how Zikula and the PagEd tables work than WordPress. The WordPress CMS has simply one table, but the PagEd has titles, ingress, text, photos and extra paragraphs in separate tables.
As to the question how much time is worth, that was the original question. How much is your time worth?

Hi,
mutransport support import from PagEd, you could then import the PagEd articles into News (or Content). News has a flat database and will be much more easy to import into wordpress.

I have looked a bit into PagEd before for conversion code, but Mutransport now already has it. What version of PagEd are you using 100 or 110RC?
Send me a PM and we can see what can be done...

gudmann: Come back and tell us your experience with the extended support. I've tried several times to get extended support and coding done for Postnuke and Zikula, and I've only had one favorable experience. It was extremely expensive to get done, but favorable. Good Luck... -

mesteele101: will do.
I am really in a corner with this. It´s like creating a cucumber out of an orange and an apple. -

Thanks for all the offers, but I have solved this.
It was far from being a simple solution. Mostly i used phpMyAdmin and Excel to move the data to a copied empty database from WordPress. The results are not perfect, but much better than I hoped for.
Thanks again. -

Good luck. If you ever need a bigger system or complex modules you can always look at Zikula again.
