How can this be done? What Do i Need?  Bottom

  • I will be using Zikula as a Business site.
here the basics of what i need.
    Addsence Code for adds.
    on visit, a explanation page.
a Legal page, with ''click to agree'' function.
members can register, and upload information about themselves MUST BE PRIVATE!

members can private message Admin ONLY.
Members can NOT view other members. there must be no way to see other members info.

Announcments page for members NOT viewable by unregistered members.

so ''bob'' visits page, see about info. registers, has to agree to terms and conditions.
once registered can fill out certain profile fields (must have way to change profile field names)
can log in, and see admin messages.

so.. any ideas guys? i think Zikula is perfect for my needs. just.. need help setting it up ;) icon_rolleyes

  • This is all pretty basic stuff. You might need to edit some code to change profile field names, depending on what they are. The one thing I am not sure of is the limitation of private messaging only admins; I've done this but don't remember whether I edited code or just set permissions.

You could probably do all this with just Core Zikula and the Content and Intercom modules.
  • just Core Zikula and the Content and Intercom modules.... you just lost me.
i know nothing about code skills.
  • No code skills required.

"Core Zikula" is the basic package. There's a link a upper left to download it. I would recommend the 1.2.8 version at this point.

"Core" is just the shell, you have to add modules to it that handle various kinds of information.

    The content module is here:
    http://community.zikula.org/module-Extensions-display-ot-component-componentid-66.htm

    the Intercom module is here:
    http://community.zikula.org/module-Extensions-display-ot-component-componentid-45.htm

You upload these modules into the "modules" folder and then install them in the administration panel in Zikula.

You would probably do well to read the documentation for administrators on this web site:
