  I've been in and out for the last year or so. Finally got the 1.3.1 downloaded, installed, and I 'BELIEVE' I am ready to start digging into the new Zikula. I remember doing Smarty development for the Postnuke/Zikula back in the day and there was a Blank Theme I used... now however, I am seeing a variety of themes in the downloads area and it seems like people are developing themes that don't utilize the builtin Smarty-based theme engine?
  
  Could someone briefly explain what the status is on themes?
  Can I just grab a Blank theme and go? Using the Smarty tags (Zikula modified of course) and start building custom themes?

  Hi, there is a large collection of Themes here: https://github.com/hvorragend/themes you can see them in action in demo.zikula.de. They are zk13 ready.
  
  Keep in mind that for zk13 the template delimiters have changed from the old zikula < ! - - [ and ] - - > style to plain curly brackets { and }. Maybe that is the confusion. I dont know the status actually of BlankTheme at the moment for zk13.

  There are also hundreds of themes in the extension database for Zikula. http://community.zik…view-comptype-2.htm I don't know how many are actually zk13 ready, but I have had no problems using some of the themes I made for 1.2 in 1.3

  BlankTheme is 1.3 ready and it's in https://github.com/matheo/BlankTheme
  
  Themes not using Smarty would not work with 1.3.x
  or maybe using the Zikula Theme structure :P

  Nice to hear that BT is 1.3 ready. Is there anyway that this could also be included with the 1.3 download?
