Clip questions / zikula 1.3  Bottom

  • Hi

First of all I love the new look and feel of Clip on Zikula 1.3, thx to all involved (zikula and Clip team)

    I have some question’s / problems!

    1) When I take the pubtype “pages” and press “New article” , I get the following warning message

WARN (4): E_USER_WARNING: Smarty error: Invalid name passed to assign_concat. in Smarty.class.php line 1093
WARN (4): E_USER_WARNING: Smarty error: Invalid name passed to assign_concat. in Smarty.class.php line 1093
WARN (4): E_USER_WARNING: Smarty error: Error! in pagesetvar: the value parameter must be specified. in Smarty.class.php line 1093

Can I ignore this? The rest of the page looks ok?

At the moment "SeaBreeze” theme is active.

    2) when I activate Clip it says that Thumbnail module is recommend. When I go to the github

The Thumbnail / README.markdown file says:
The Thumbnail module provides thumbnail generation facilities via userapi functions.
Please note this module uses phpThumb which is not PHP 5.3 compliant so it will generate PHP notices if logging is turned up.
For longer term, this module is not recommended as there are other more efficient and up to date methods of thumbnail creation

    3) how do I make scribite! Active in Clip and do I have to do this for every pubtype separately?
  • Hi Michiel
Glad you like the new Clip movements icon_wink
    About the issues:

    1) That's a known assign_concat bug fixed in the 1.3.1 branch, you can get the new file here:
    https://raw.github.com/zikula/core/master/src/lib/viewplugins/function.assign_concat.php

    2) Indeed, Thumbnail module needs to use another modern lib
we need someone to take the time to implement it and get it better

    3) Yes, the concept behind Clip makes every pubtype independient of each other
and inside some pubtypes, you can have some Text fields using it while other doesn't.

    Greetings

  • BTW regarding Thumbnail, for News the thumbs of images are created with http://phpthumb.gxdlabs.com/ and the source code is on https://github.com/masterexploder/PHPThumb. This lib is PHP 5.3 ready and quite modern in the code and MIT licensed
