Theme Center Block Not Working  Bottom

  • I have a theme that seems to have a problem where I can't put any blocks in the center block. I put the same block in the left block and it works fine. Problem with the theme perhaps. I don't write themes so it is disappointing to me. Unless ofcourse this is a problem with Zikula or permissions or something like that.

    Your thoughts?

As always thanks for the help.
  • Always helps to mention the theme and/or provide a link.

  • sorry you will have to cut and paste that URL to your browser.
  • What's the theme? Could be a coding error in the theme.

  • according to source, it is junk99 but I do not recognize that or find it anywhere, so it may be renamed for local use?

  • yes the theme name is junk99. I copied a theme last year and called it that to play around. I couldn't tell you really what the theme name was originally. I do know that when I create a block it asks me if I want to put it left, right or center. I suspect that if zikula didn't think there was a center block it wouldn't off it as an option. I am absolutely green at this. I know enough to be dangerous and frustrated. I see the two of you on the site. I think that is great that you are taking the time to help me out. I truely appreciate it.
  • Oh and if you are aware of other shareware themes that are similar to the layout of this by all means please advise. I am trying to duplicate www.strictlybowhunting.com and the functionality it has. That is my PN site that I am trying to recreate in Zikula. I am trying to do it myself but I think I may have to get some help. It was done for me years ago. I just don't have the time to learn this.
  • Themes live here in the extensions data base. I am fond of BlankTheme because it is so flexible and can do many things, but it does have a bit of a learning curve, though. You are looking for a three column theme and LGBlue and Andreas01 and Multiflex 3 and Nautica 05 all fit that bill. HTH.

And, yes, PostNuke has evolved from a good content management system to a great application framework, and I believe will be even better over the next 6-12 months after 1.3 is out and some key modules catch up. The price has been lots of change and a more complex system, and the documentation has not caught up - can't really catch up because of the moving target issue. But folks here are patient and helpful.

  • I agree. People have been very helpful. I will take a look at those three column themes. If I am understanding it correctly once I have the basic theme I can use Macromedia to make changes to master.ini, styles, etc to get the look and feel I am looking for.
  • There's also the Theme960 that I did that's based on the 960 Grid System, a layout like that would be easy to do. IT's not as robust as BlankTheme, but it's easier to work with, at least for me, for basic layouts.

  • Yea I have been playing with the Andreas09 and LGblue themes. They seem to be close in theory. I have not worked with styles before. It is killing me. At this rate I won't get it done until 2012! I would think someone with a little bit of knowledge would be able to get it done in an hour. Hint! Hint!
Until then my anxiety will be high!
