Just to know, I have an open bid to support MediaAttach if this tool will be replaced, do you know if there is a way to help this future development? We miss this feature a lot in Zikula.

The German Zikula association is preparing a sponsorship for a new media module which is going to become the successor for Mediashare, MediaAttach, Downloads and other ones. It will be based on Zikula 1.3 and ModuleStudio 0.5.2. Actually I am currently doing the first modeling steps.
Afterwards there will be some announcements showing more details about the project and so on. As this becomes a quite comprehensive thing some functions are planned to be sponsored by the community - so you could incorporate your bid into that project as well.

Has there been any discussions if RC or final will have module to use fb accounts to register/login? I have no national secrets that i need to go through with my friends, but i would like to be little bit more certain that who is who, but so much certain that i would want to use any CC- or bank provided authorisation to create account.

There are modules being developed and polished for different ways of authentication using external services.
See for example:
* Facebook
* OAuth
* OpenID
I doubt that any of these will make it into the core though. There will be an official distribution which is probably going to contain these modules beside many others in order to provide everything one needs for a quick start.

Sounds excellent! I have my site running with 1.3.0 (it's not like it would take care of nuclear plant or missile base). Is that Facebook module yet to be downloaded yet? (i don't mind editing things by myself if that is what it takes to make it work)

Hmmm, that sounds really good! Will it include handling of youtube, flash, and other embedded media? -

With regards to authentication modules in general. Zikula 1.3 has it's own standard for integrating into the authentication workflow. That work is being polished off before we release 1.3 as a final. To start the process there OpenID is being developed, which will be followed by OAuth and then Facebook (in this order). I don't know the state of the referenced Facebook module but it certainly won't work in 1.3. The aforementioned 3 modules are definitely on the list and are being actively worked on as in my opinion, we cannot remain credible without those three modules being developed and well maintained.

As Guite already told, we will start a modul development in short time. Give us time until end of February, than we can tell more. The first moddelling will show us if the concept is ok.
This modul will be a very big project. So do not expect a working module before mid of the year, might be even later. We will keep the community updated.

Thank You!!
I will be monitoring this site in the future as well (so far only had been checking up, since nothing has been missing and everything has been working excellent!!), so i will naturally notice when that would be out for testing. I have no rush, other than to move rest of the sites with zikula, but better later than unstable. I can keep waiting, no problem. What i have always liked the most on your job has been the fact that You don't put things first and make it safe and stable while there is something found.
I can't thank You enough, but i can keep pushing forward to make unofficial 1.3.0 finnish support site out on time.

@miihkali - the most effective thing you can do to help push 1.3.0 out is to get involved in the testing. This testing not only helps core developers, it also has a very positive effect on module developers.

Zikula beta 2 (Core) is actually quite stable....it needs a little bit of polish here and there but in general is working as expected.
I used it to build a news site that serves more than 5000 visitors a day...and counting

the developer of that module has disappeared from the web (and stole some of my money). I wouldn't expect anything from him. I never could get the module to do anything.
