  • Hi,
I need your opinion on that one.
On the same topic, I am using a fluid960gs 3 column based theme and I would like to know if there is a way in the theme to hide the left side blocks and the right side blocks when a mobile browser is detected.
I want to avoid the use and maintenance of a specific mobile theme, the same reason, I suppose, responsive design was created.

  • I dont know the fluid960 framework, only from the concept. If you can detect a mobile browser you can hide the left an right column
and make sure the margins on the middle one are ok.

  • It is interesting for me and i will try my best to to do this.
  • Hi,
do you have any experiences or best practices to share according to the implementation of responsive web design in your theme? I suppose a good start would be to use a flexible layout like the ones in BlankTheme.

  • I think some web pages are already making use of this one. There is one search engine I frequent to that I am sure has this capability. Accessing their home page from my computer would show the complete picture of it with a side bar on the left. But on my tablet, they just show the main frame and had to make to without the panel on the side. I have set the browser on my tablet to recognize it as a desktop computer but still, they adjusted with its screen size.
