Happy New 2011 year Zikulans,
As I understand the answer to my question in topic is NO.
At least 1.2.x does not meet the functionality of PostNuke+Pagesetter+Mediashare.
I hope 1.3.x+PageMaster/Clip will do the trick!
I think is not difficult to add image container integration in PageMaster. Now I do this manually with string fieldtype and copy/paste URL from Mediashare.
A user needs an entire integrated system of modules + core. Developing only Zikula core is not working for me.
I really like the News module. It is almost ready for live news oriented site, just add integrated image container. Uploading an image for every article is useless for me. I added a feature request in tickets.
Can someone tell me when in the foreseeable future I can hope to make the switch from PostNuke to Zikula?

Hi dear friends,
i've used postnuke, then zikula about ten years for me and my customers
and i haven't any major problem with it. i've led the persian community
of zikula for years too.
but now i'm tempted to migrate to wordpress for my small customers and
drupal for my large customers. because they have huge community, huge
number of useful modules and plugins and templates, and i think they are
more lightweight than zikula!
please let me know about future of zikula development. can i stay with
zikula or go? do you have any plan for your future?
thank you.

@msshams:
I think I can give you a not very surprising answer - I like to be practical. We've talked extensively about the overall plan, and right now, we are focusing on our core offering - a product we can be proud of and evangelise - but for the time being you have to address your own individual needs. If Zikula doesn't suit your needs now and you cannot wait, then the decision is very simple - do what you need to do and use what you need to use. You can always check back later and see.
If you have time, do checkout Zikula 1.3.0 from http://ci.zikula.org/jobs/Zikula-1.3.0/ and install the latest Clip from http://github.com/zikula-modules/Clip (there is a download button there). Both are pretty close to finished.
Regards,

I can't give you an answer I can faithfully stick to yet. We need to see the feedback from 1.3.0 beta2 to know. I think it's pretty ready, but we can't say until we get bug reports (or not :)
The more people that really test it, the faster a release will come.
