  • Hi guys

    I run a Zikula website for many years now (since postnuke), right now I'm trying to contact someone (or company) so they can convert a .PSD template into a theme. I can pay with paypal.

    The AutoTheme guys are out of business and I don't know who to contact (I've tried BlankTheme), any advice?

    Thanks.

    EDIT: I've checked PortalThemes and they seem to be inactive too, also, some of the sites under http://community.zik…g=WhereToFindThemes aren't working.

  • Hi,

    do you know http://zikulapro.com already?
    You could add your job there.

  • Yes I know, sorry but it's dead like a dead horse, check the bids and the dates, it doesn't work.

    But I thank you for taking the time to answer, any other ideas?
  • Impressive, I'm investigating the web and it seems that nobody supports Zikula themes in a commercial way, believe it or not:

    http://www.spidean.com/ -> out of business
    http://www.portalthemes.com/ -> not active
    http://www.romelo.com/ -> doesn't support Zikula anymore
    http://www.zikulathemes.com/ -> doesn't work
    http://community.postnuke.com/?module=Database&tid=4&filter=commercial:eq:33 -> last entry is from 2008
    http://www.cmsarea.com/ -> doesn't support Zikula
    http://www.dezina.com/ -> not active
    http://www.envothemes.com -> doesn't work
    http://post.gigathemes.com/ -> doesn't work

    Google search with "commercial zikula themes":

    ZERO! What a nightmare! Can anybody help? Please? icon_frown

    Many thanks.
  • I could probably do the conversion for you, but it might be several days before I could get started.

    Time is not an issue, finding people that work in Zikula is. Time will only be an issue if you're talking about months or something.

    If you're interested please reply, thanks.
  • Sure, I'm interested. My email address is wendell -at- harntech -dot- com.

    Thanks!

  • For the record, part of why ZikulaPro doesn't work is because it's not used. If more people actually posted stuff like this there, then more of us, like me, would actually pay closer attention to it.

    Please don't be offended, that isn't my intention, but why don't you guys pay attention to the things that already are there?

    From a costumer point of view (my view for example), the image that I retain is that nobody cares, honestly. I see some requests, and no one bids? Only one bid? If the Zikula pros don't answer who will answer?

    To be honest, I feel that Zikula is more and more and more non user friendly, but this might be because I use it for so many years now, maybe other people say the same about other CMS, I don't really know. The problem is that it's difficult to get support, even when you pay.

    Nonetheless, I thank you for participating in the topic, many thanks.
  • I quit checking Zikula Pro because there were never any jobs listed there for stuff like what you're asking for. I look and I see:

    Only one of those would I have personally bid on, the Migration one, and I believe I attempted to contact that poster for more information because I wasn't sure what we were working with, never heard back from him.

    In my case, the rest of the posts are outside of my abilities. They almost all require a certain skill set that not many posses.

    Best thing anyone can do is post there and if they gain no responses, post here pointing to it.

  • I understand, but you understand my point of view? Right?

    Anyway, do you want to give me your email or site or something? I might need you in the future.

    Thanks.

  • I have had a similar experience. I have a postnuke site for years, I dream of converting it to zikula and resurrect the site but I want to be sure I would be able to maintain it alive and non-dormant in future. So, I want to understand what I would need to do before I decide to pay for some initial work and some module development work.

    Months ago, I was in touch with Simon Birtwhistle (itbegins.co.uk) and I quite liked his idea of email support of various levels (Diamond, Gold etc with different offerings) but he doesn't seem to be involved with Zikula any longer. Wendell and Ragsch have been prompt with their answers whenever I emailed them, but as I wrote, I need to have some basic understanding of the framework first.

    Sadly, most of the documentation is outdated and it is difficult to get an idea as to when the situation would improve. I would really appreciate it very much if more attention is paid to bringing the documentation up to scratch, for whatever is available at the moment, in whatever form.
