News and Dizkus slowdown when migrating to 1.2.4  Bottom

  • I just upgraded to Core 1.2.4 and I find that the website takes so long to load. Which is why I do not know, and if it can not be due to some of the version or to have the active support the old modules.

Perhaps also may have something to do the Theme I am using, that maybe is not compatible with the theme of languages ...

As if that was a thing of the Theme, I have changed to one that if it is not compatible with gettext and speeding up the load and do not know where to look and I'm going crazy trying to figure out why.

I have seen that if the INDEX NEWS targets, the system slows down in this version of noses ... If you remove and which does not lead to anything, loading at the same speed in version 1.2.3.

NEWS Module both from the Body, as from the user, it takes a lot to load. NEWS The installed version is 2.6.2.

    Only happens when accessing D I Z K U S and N E W S And that's before us is not happening: (

If it were up configurations, this had happened in previous versions of CORE 1.2.x, 1.2.3 and when we put the notice an improvement in access to the web really amazing, while the opposite is 1.2.4 .

In turn, the folders have been deleted / modules pnneedleapi Dizkus and News, in case they might generate errors have disabled MultiHook.

Any ideas? The website is: http://www.delosduendeszahories.com

  • Hi Jason,

it seems like nobody has a solution ready for you. This might be related to that performance issues are not that easy to nail down.
Maybe it helps if you could tell a bit more about your environment. For example: Do you have many categories in news? Or are you using many different permissions? How strong is the server machine running this site? Did you do only the core upgrade, or did you include updates of the News module as well?

    Regards
    Axel

  • Do you have the catgory based permissions activated in news? If you have a lot of news that can slow down your site too.

  • Hello fo all.

Before upgrading the core, Dizkus and updated News.

On the core of the 1.2.3, everything was going the right way, and the upgrade to 1.2.4, slowed the whole system.

There have been no changes in the versions of Apache, PHP and MySQL.

Dizkus understand that there are problems, to be more than 74 000 post, but there are only 100 News News and 2 categories, so that the slowdown does not quite understand.

Do not know what data you need or if you want to have access to hosting to evaluate something, or even access to my hosting Zikula. Anything you may need just ask me and I have you to providing it.

  • Hi Axel.
    News Categories: 2
Publishing permissions are simple, any registered user can send a story, but to be published only administrators can allow their publication.
The machine is an Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU E5335@2.00GHz with 8 processors, 3368988 kB Total Memory, Free Memory 236340 kB, Memory 2031608 kB total swap, free swap Memory 1990044 kB, Apache 2.2.15, DirectAdmin 1.36.2, 4.67 Exim, MySQL 01/05/1948, Named 9.3.3rc2, ProFTPd 1.3.3a, sshd, dovecot and PHP 01.02.1912 5.2.14.
The updates were applied as follows: pre D I Z K U S and N E W S and the Zikula core. In fact, updates of the modules were implemented in version 1.2.3 of Zikula and the system was fine, and was just after applying the update of CORE when they have slowed access to modules D I Z K U S and N E W S.
  • Hi Axel.
In turn, state that I did a full export the database, I deleted all the contents and again proceeded to import the entire database. The result in terms of access speeds with no improvement followed.
  • I don't have a solution for you, but since you can clearly define the point of your performance degradation (core 1.2.3 OK, core 1.2.4 not OK), it should be easy to set up a reproducible case.

    1) Install verison 1.2.3 and import your module data
    2) Install version 1.2.4 and import your module data
    3) Compare and contrast.

There is no magic flag we can wave to solve such issues. The best way is to do as described above and analyze the differences in generated SQL and the execution times.

    Greetings
