Files 1.1 will not install  Bottom

  • Zk1.2.3

Tyring to install the Module all I get is:

"Sorry! Invalid authorisation key ('authkey'). This is probably either
because you pressed the 'Back' button to return to a page which does
not allow that, or else because the page's authorisation key expired
due to prolonged inactivity. Please refresh the page and try again."

    Things I have tried:

Refreshing the page and trying again
Logging Out and Logging In again
    Clearing Broswer Caches
    Clearing Zk Caches
Deleting the Module and the Folder, re-downloading and installing again.

Tried installing on another Domain/Site (Zk1.2.3) with exactly the same result.

    Clues?
  • Are there no kind ladies or gents able to offer any wisdom? These are clean installs of Zk1.2.3 and the latest Version of Files which says it is supported with 1.2.3, but if I can't get it to install....?
  • Which version of mysql and PHP ?

    Modul MUTransport
  • I agree it's rather strange. Obviously others have installed it without problems, and so far I do not have this issue with other Modules (that I have installed). So why 'File' in particular? It's a bit frustrating as I really want to see how the combined functionality of 'Content', 'File', and 'Scribite' can work together to give a more humane 'User' functionality to updating Site content, without having to rely on a more dedicated Site 'Admin'.

Some Site owners do not have the time or inclination to spend the time required to develop the experience and expertise to maintain the Site at a more technical level, so I am looking for user friendly solutions for them. 'Content' and 'Scribite' work just fine. Just this darn 'File' Module doesn't want to play...

I don't really know what I am talking about, but doesn't 'Authkey' smack of 'Session' related stuff, and therefore Core? If so, why does it only seem to affect the installation of this Module in particular. The Zikula installations are clean untweaked installations using the defaults, but as it seems to affect more than 1 installation, that also smacks of something with my setups, but for the life of me, I can't begin to think of what...

    Grateful for your response.
  • Does your host provide a control panel? WHich one? See if you have an option to repair the database in it anywhere. May not be the solution, but worth a shot.

  • Does a drowning man cling to a piece of floating wreckage? icon_wink Yes, I have a well featured Control Panel (cPanel) and will definately give it a shot.
  • Ok, well 'Repair Database' did not resolve anything.

    I then tried this:

I took a clean new Domain (the only action *ever* carried out was to create an index.htm splash page, nothing else, no MySQL tables, no CMS installations, nothing).

I installed Zikula 1.2.3. Basic, clean, new install with no additional Modules (apart from what are included in the distribution). No changes made to any Settings.

    I installed Files 1.1.

    Bang! "

"Sorry! Invalid authorisation key ('authkey'). This is probably either
because you pressed the 'Back' button to return to a page which does
not allow that, or else because the page's authorisation key expired
due to prolonged inactivity. Please refresh the page and try again."

What IS going on? Are there any 'Host' Settings that could be interfering? Does anyone know what they could be? If so, why don't they interfere with other Modules?

The frustration'Ometer is now reaching Amber...

What is 'Authkeys' all about? What makes it clobber an attempt to install something? From where I am sitting right now, this System is fundementally broken. Either Zikula is screwing up, or Files is screwing up, or something to do with my Host is screwing up, or I am screwing up (always possible), but without any support direction, where do I go now?..........

  • does it install on 1.2.2?

  • Okay, maybe there is a hitch, just not the same problem. I'm having trouble with generated thumbnails in it. Gets a broken image. The thumbnail is created, I can see it via FTP, but the display isn't working right. Even pulled the files from it that are on a site it's working on, and still doesn't work. :(

  • cPanel Version 11.25.0-RELEASE
    Operating system Linux
    Kernel version 2.6.9-89.0.11.ELsmp

Doh! Finally got it installed. Used Firefox and all went smoothly. However, I want to try and get to the bottom of why IE(8) causes this. It is my preferred Browser (yes I know all the pro's and con's). It was recently updated with a Google Chrome Frame thingy (technical term icon_wink ) in order to view Google Wave, and Chrome has it's own Authentication handling so maybe there's some cross interference. Some testing should illuminate that. If so, it's something to note.

Thanks for chipping in guys. It helps not to feel alone. Now I can move on to the next stage...
  • Have you tried IE8 from another computer. I'm guessing you have deleted all the browsing history, restored the advanced settings, and tried compatability mode?

IE works very strange with some of these Zikula modules at times.
