I've searched so hope you'll forgive me if I've missed it and this is a repeat.
As an example: the module_scribite_4.1.zip file has folders called module, config, and images. I have unzipped it and uploaded the scribite folder inside of the module file (as per module instructions) and activated it with the module manager in the backend. Beyond that the problem is, I don't know what to do with the files inside of the other two folders - config and images. It seems so basic but where do they go?
Several others modules seem to have a similar construction.
Thanks for any help.

you may find it easier (and faster) to upload the archive to your zikula root and then use cpanel or some other tool to unpack the archive. this would automatically place all the files in the correct place.
if not, inside your zikula root should be both a config and images directories. place the contents of the archives inside those directories. -

Thank you for your clear and concise answer. Easy enough to do as both methods work for me. I think I was thrown when I looked inside the images directory (for example) and saw a plugin directory - should have known right then, that was where the file went.
