Is there a block that will display the categories for the News module? The News module does not come with any blocks that will just show the categories used and the Categories module doesn't have any blocks at all.

Hi, nope there is no such block yet. I saw you already made a ticket in News, that is the way to go
You just want a list of the categories and a link to the news for that category (subcategories in use?).
It all depends on how far you want to take it. If you want subcategories to also be included and only list the categories that have articles in them, it will make it harder of course.

That would be useful, it should respect the permissions on the categories like the func=categorylist does.

It would be nice to have all that functionality, yes, but for now all that I really need is a simple list of categories that link to a list of articles in each. It would be a great place to start, at least. :) -

It would be nice to have multiple categories when creating articles too. I will add that as a ticket. :)

Actually, I think the best solution for this would be a block for the Categories module itself. Maybe with an option to show a list of categories within a parent category specified by admin.
