IMHO, this fix is only a workaround and only shows that the issue comes from deeper probably due to the combination of BlankTheme and the renderer (like 2 successive refresh/call or something), I just don't know how to debug further... -

If I'm not mistaken jscalendar is being replaced anyway isn't it?
It's hard to find a datetime picker that also has a LGPL license. But jscalendar 1 has been replaced by the author with a whole new version (JSCal2) but that one is far more restritive in free use.
The old jscalendar 1 is unmaintained according to the author, so IMHO looking for another one is not so bad
For News I've picked a GPL datetime picker (here, but that is not suited for the Core, since it should be LGPL.
this one is MIT license.

@TakeIT2 : Do you load other javascript codes in your page?
I have seen that when I deactivate a block loading an other javascript the problem is gone.

I do not load any from my theme, but other hooks load all kinds of js. I have tried unloading the other hooks and the problem was still there - but this issue was cleared up for me, for now at least.
