Do you have any info on how the Meebo bar integrates in a page? Presumably, you add code to the page, which could be accomplished at a theme level. There's nothing, at least at this time, native to Zikula to handle such thing.

I just added the Meebo bar to KamloopsCity.com for kicks.
I'm not sure I like it yet though
It has standard instructions for adding to a template.
If you have any specific questions, let me know. -

I think it's a cool idea but it needs to be based on Zikula accounts not some 3rd party system. -

bowob.com looks really interesting but it is a service, not a download. It has a drupal and wordpress integration, so presumably they could do one for Zikula as well.
Anyone know of one that could be downloaded? -

Although it's not free, http://www.cometchat.com also looks very interesting. It's a download and supports a lot of CMSes. -

Take a look to http://www.123flashchat.com/ (Web Messanger). But it's not free
I have still create a Module to integrate the Chat into Zikula. FlaschChatBridge - It's still empty in the Cozi, because its not yet finished. But I can send you a test Version of the FlaschChatBridge Modul if you want. There is also still Modul directly from the FlashChat developers in the extdb. I think its called chat.
You can download the chat for free. The limitation is, that in the free version you can only use 10 concurrent users.
With this chat you have your own chat server running.
I also want to create a modul for the WebMessanger to integrate the Contactlist from the contaclist Modul.
I have bougth both system for my new site.
I have tested a lot of chat Systems, and this was the best one for my new site. -

But does it allow for the chat bar at the bottom of the page like you see on MySpace and Facebook?

Bowob doesn't seem to have any info to work from to develop one. CometChat seems pretty cool, and reasonablly priced compared to FLashchat.

Bowob looks like the coolest chat, but it would be nice if it had the social networking bits of Meebo.
Personally I'm not interested in chat, but I guess it's best to keep on topic with the original post :)
Rob, are you looking into Zikula integration for Bowob? -

I'm "looking into it" in the barest sense. I don't think I'll have time unless it's really easy. There is a Wordpress plugin on the wordpress site you can look at but I have a hard time reading what in that plugin is "wordpress" and what is "bowob", if you know what I mean. -

I found Meebo to be a little janky so I just installed Wibiya on KamloopsCity.com. It looks a lot more polished and has more plug-ins. It doesn't have integration with the Zikula userbase, but if Zikula had Facebook login support, all would be spiffy.
