Looking for some testers for PostCalendar 6.1.0. I have published an RC1. Please let me know if you are testing it and log any issues to the tracker at Cozi.
Release Notes:
1 NEW PostCalendar now provides a hook that allows other modules to create events. Implemented with this release are the News module and the Users module. See feature documentation for more information. Other module developers can create their own method of event creation and release within their own module. Please see the developer documentation for information on implementation.
2 NEW Contenttype API blocks now available. Currently implemented: Upcoming events and Featured event. (requires Content module)
3 NEW Multi-category filtering of main user views now possible with LivePipe-enhanced multi-selector (requires LivePipe library installation).
4 NEW Past Events block available (very useful when PostCalendar is hooked to News)
5 Private events display 'lock' icon.
6 The list and RSS feed viewtype have been dramatically improved to list events beginning at present and continuing to an admin-definable endpoint (in months).
7 Can auto-hide today's events block if no events are available for today.
8 Fixes bug with upgrade when event locations have a single quote (thx ccandreva)

I've installed this RC on a 1.2.2 test site, the install went as expected and configuration was well laid out.
I then removed it and started over to see if I could load in the calendar items from my live site which is using PN 7.64 and Postcalendar 4.0.3
I copied the two tables from the existing install
nuke_postcalendar_categories
nuke_postcalendar_events
and renamed them using phpMyAdmin to
z_postcalendar_categories
z_postcalendar_events
Then went to Modules admin and regenerated modules, Postcalendar was listed as not installed, so I installed it, got one warning about duplicated index. (makes sense because the table postcalendar_events was already created.
The result was that all the events are indeed visible on the new install but there are some glitches. Nothing was done with the old categories.
It looks like I would need to actually install 4.0.3 on the Zikula 1.2.2 site, import the data, then do the upgrade to 6.1 ?
Is that even possible? I'm going to send you a PM with the test site address.

you might try uprgrading PC to 5.8.3 first. then 6.1.0.
waiting so long to upgrade can result in some unexpected trials. When I went through that I did the .764>112 upgrade and did the PC upgrade to 5.1 at the time. Not sure what would work best for you. -

Hi sorry to bother you but I am asking this here because I can't find anywhere else to ask.
I am using zikula 1.2.2 and installed postcalendar 6.0.2
I have used postcalander before but in this instance can't get events to display, they do appear as approved events in my admin panel but do not appear on my calendar block at all, either in the calendar or in upcoming events, any suggestions for me, Thanks hopefully...

Yes, I've been wanting to upgrade the site for a couple of years but keep running into roadblocks where major content on the site would not be available if I upgraded, due to modules not being ready. That's why I'm so glad to see you working on Postcalendar. Thanks.
Will 5.8.3 install on Postnuke .764? If so I could upgrade the old site to that (on a copy of the site) before I do the Zikula 1.12 upgrade.
So many steps involved in a Postnuke .764 >> Zikula 1.2.2 upgrade, but I figure it's only going to get worse. I'm also under time pressure because this particular site has a huge increase in traffic as the sailing season starts.

I can't find 5.8.3, I checked the downloads in Cozi and also the ExDB at
http://community.zik…omponentid-212.htm
with no luck, could you give a link?

Yep, That's why I'm pushing my last client still on .764 to schedule a time to do the upgrade before I have to charge him more to do it. Thankfully, their site is pretty basic, so I can upgrade everything, but some of the modules being used may cease to work with 1.3's release. (dpSTafStatus for one).

Are you trying to upgrade a previous install or new install? Is this an English language site? can you provide a URL?
the events that appear as approved - are the dates correct? -

Thanks for the reply.
Yes all the dates are correct, everything seems to be working correctly the events just don't appear in the calendar or get picked up in a search, Any ideas would be great, Cheers -

No the postcalendar is a new install not an upgrade the site is English, it is a private site I am running for family communications, the link is thirdsite.com.au, I have set the calendar block to appear with out a login, that is how it shows to all users including admin the event just don't appear in the block or on the full calendar view. Thanks for your time. -
