  I've created a Zikula site for an organisation in South Africa. They run a Yahoo group as a listserv as well. About half the subscribers of the Yahoo group are registered users on the site as well. There are lots of duplicates efforts and managing the users is becoming a nightmare. Our goal is to 'migrate' the listserv functionality into the website with as little as possible hassle for the subscribers. The user must be able to post via email and each submission must be moderated.
  
  My first thought was a combination of Dizkus and the mail2forum functionality. Disadvantages:
  

  • half of the Yahoo subscribers must be persuaded to register on the website
  • Dizkus is more a forum module than a listserv module and is probably to overwhelming for the majority of the target audience
  • Attachements, if possible at all, will be per thread in stead of per post

  
  
  Second though is to create a simple listserv module that allows subscribing and un-subscribing without registering as a user on the site. This is going to be more work though.
  
  Any thoughts, hints, similar solutions?
