Have been playing around with BlankTheme customising it for my site. Since the upgrade to 1.21 core I had some weird experiances and have tracked it down to templates\config\themevariables.ini being wiped out completely. This seems to occur if I am working on or selecting Pageconfigurtion from the Theme's menu. Have cured it for the time being by making it non-writable.
This happens to all themes ported through BlankTheme and it occurs on two seperate installations one an upgrade and the other a clean install.

So, the Themes' panel mess up the themevariables.ini :-S
we need to check it. If you create a ticket on the Core tracker reporting this will be very appreciated

Have done so, hope I've done it right, my first time.
A bit more info, this only appears to happen if the theme is currently active as an admin theme.
