Hello,
I don't really understand what's doing the status "Archived" for a news, what happen to a news if I set the status "Archived" for it?
There is a section "Archives" on the News module, which contain all the old news, what's the connection between this section and the status of a news "Archived"?

It is just a special status that is not shown by default in the News overview and blocks. You can in that way really Archive items, so not visible by default, but also not deleted.
The archives (bit confusing term indeed in that sense) just show all published articles in a time overview.
Do you have an idea for a better term for the regular archives?

Thanks for these informations. It could have some alternatives, for example:
- Keep "Archived" status for news, on "Archives" section display only news with "Archived" status, make a new section "Timeline" which replace the actual "Archives" section and which contain only news with a status different than "Archived".
- Keep "Archives" section as it is and rename the "Archived" status with something like "Hidden", "Classify", ... -

IMHO, 'Archived' is OK as a term. I'd leave it like that and,
personally, I find the functionality useful. 0.2 cents.
