  if I understand you correct, you would like users to be able to edit their own articles? This is only possible if they have Edit permission for the articles. Usually a group of moderators/admins have this right and they can approve submitted Pending Review articles and edit/delete them.
  There is at the moment no functionality to have users edit their own articles automatically, since that would mean that they can alter already published news articles on the fly. For a Forum for instance that makes sense, since it is their own content.
  You can use the Instance column of the permission to allow specific permissions, so only for a certain contributor ID or article id allow or deny permissions.
