The overall tone is, as usual, aggressive, condescending and confrontational. I loath the forums personally, hence my extremely low post count (spanning 8 years!).
Yes. That is exactly the reason why I avoid the international forum. And I regret getting into this discussion. I am off again...

will try migrate to Drupal where CCK and Views modules very similarity to Pagesetter functionality
Actually I am experimenting with it as we speak...

Nevertheless, I still have problems with pagemaster and thumbnails, and in fact, I'm too lazy to search for what the problem might be.

I've been digging the German forum about Pagesetter and on the latest meeting I received a PS version for Zikula, also Arjen has been working on a version to exclude the good old HTML area so users can choose if they want to use Scribite.

I'm with Rob with the moduleStudio thing, pretty outdated [but actually I don't care and I know Axel is busy], and to create a module... nah, in Pagesetter I just see in my head how I will build a site and I just do it... [not sponsored by Nike BTW]

Anyway, I'm glad Pagesetter is converted to gettext, and I will try to compare with the versions I have.

He already did that -- it is the release 6.3.0.1 available in the new Cozi project and also at pagesetter.net.
  • I'm an American so I'm not so gung-ho crazy about Paegmaster like our European counterparts, but I'd like to know something..

If PM can do all that PS can do (except relations) then why hasn't someone, with the skills to do it, stepped up and created a relations version?

I know there are plenty of people on this forum and not, who use PS and PM and they would probably all donate crap tons of money to see PM finished up.

If I had the skills I would do it, but I don't, so who wants my money?
  • I have installed PM and I like a lot of it...

I do have a few questions though that are pretty big ones:

1.) Is the API structure the same as PS... By that I mean will PS plugins work out of the box or has the API changes such that we'll have to learn new function calls...?

2.) Will PM work with pgArchive and pgCalendar? If not, is there any plan for migrating these modules to work with PM... for me this is in fact a deal-breaker as pgArchive and pgCalendar exponentially increase the power of PS.

3.) Let's say that nobody builds relations into PM...(that would stink BTW) Ok... remember way back when PS didn't have relations built in and someone (Casi, in 2005) whipped up a guppy plugin to achieve it... We had to use a pnmodfunc call in the template to get the related publication's data (getPubData I think) it was a bit tedious (ok, so two steps more) but it did in fact work... So my question is: why can't we just do that?

I too have monies that I'll throw at people who can finish it... ;)

  • and for the people who want to contribute so we can come up with a nice figure:

+1 for PM further development, but I would like to have the plugins too [inlinePubList, Read_Pubcount, etc...]...

Michael-- would you consider submitting a ticket over at http://code.zikula.org/topicsbridge with the details of the troubles you had with TopicsBridge and 1.2?

    Thanks!
