That's another php5-only bug, reported as ticket #60. Thanks for letting us know.
You can solve this for now by changing the pnevent.php file with the changes outlined at:
changeset 199 (pnevent.php)
I have ran a check for php5-only code over the codebase now. It should be completely php4 compatible now. Guess craig will release a 5.5.3 version if necessary. At least it's fixed.

OK, I got curious and tried the fix anyway. I found my install was 5.5.0 so I wasn't sure if there were other changes that I should have so.... I removed the old module and downloaded the 5.5.3 from Cozi. I uploaded it and installed. The add event is working now, but there are a few minor issues I've noticed and I'm not sure if it's me or the module.
- On the 3rd party admin panel, the PostCalendar icon is gone, but I have term 'PostCalendar' listed twice.
- The actual calendar view is now missing the grid and the top row menu items (download ical, add, views, etc) is now a vertical list w/no icons. I've tried all the default themes and I get the same thing.
This is a beta site so I can get some experience w/Zikula and make sure it can handle everything I need before I actually move my current site over. So I guess I could always wipe it and start over which isn't a problem... at this point. Later will be a different story. -

Force-reload your page by using +. If that doesn't help, just empty your browser cache and restart your browser-session. I remember having this issue after an upgrade too, and that solved it for me.
You might also want to clear your Zikula cache and compiled templates also. The quickest way to achieve this is to open your Settings admin page, and just save it without modifications. This triggers the systemcache and -template cleanup.

PostCalendar 5.5.3 is now available in the the extension database.
your first issue is a missing admin icon graphic file (images/admin.gif). Either your caching is a problem as Arjen said or it didn't get uploaded properly.
your second issue sounds like you have set your default view to "list" instead of "month" - and also a caching issue with the graphics.
I suggest you turn off caching completely according to this wiki page. -

Great, thanks. I'm now up and working. After clearing the cache I found that the icons were not there so I uninstalled the pkg from Cozi and re-downloaded and installed it from the ext DB and all is working fine. I've also changed the cacheing as directed in the Wiki and so far it looks and acts great.
Thanks again for all of the help and your fast responses! You guys rock. -
