Margins in themes: why?  Bottom

  • I have been looking through themes lately, and I have noticed that virtually all of them have margins; some of them have margins that appear to take up half the right-left real estate.

There are still plenty of people out there who use the default 800x600 screen, who don't have wide screens, etc. Such screens make these margined themes look totally ridiculous; I have seen margins which are actually taking up more space than the content on these screens. Doesn't anybody try out these themes on multiple screen modes?

  • Many of those themes are narrow exactly because they were designed for 800px width screens. they fill the screen entirely and have no margins. Its on the bigger monitors that the screens have a lot of empty space on the sides. it's like watching SD video on and HD screen icon_smile

http://www.homesaversunlimited.com is a good example. It is a 800px width (modified Deliciously_Blue theme).
