First, please, be gentle... I never used PostNuke. I've used Integramod and a couple of other extended phpbb's for years. Have used blocks and modules, but it wasn't nearly as intense as I've seen with PN and Zikula.
I d/l and installed MenuTree. It's now showing as active in modules and blocks. I imported the main menu. I set up permissions to look like this:
All Groups menutree:menutreeblock: 6: Read (I did a "show source" and the BID was 6)
(Note: I also had it like this at one time:
All Groups menutree:menutreeblock: menutree:menutreeblock: Read)
This permission line is at the bottom of my list.
When I look at my start page, the title "MenuTree" shows, but none of the imported menu items shows beneath it.
I've read everything I can possible find in the way of documentation and forums over the last couple of days, and I feel really stupid at this point... but can someone please help me to see what I'm missing????
So far, I think this software is going to be the answer to my prayers for maintaining my (large) website, allowing me to expand it even more than it is now. But menutree is a must for me... I can't see how to divise an easily navigatible site without it...
Thanks in advance for ANY help you can give! I'm running out of weekend to get this set up!

Most of the times, all groups have read-permissions for everything (.*) already, so this permission rule is redundant. Anyway: At my sites, I have them set to something like:to hide the administration-menu-item for all groups. 'Navigation' is the menutreeblock title, 'Administration' is the menutreeblock link name. Be aware when using multilanguage sites and use different link names or menutreeblock titles. You would have to include all lanugage strings. Something likeCode
All Groups | menutree:menutreeblock: | Navigation:Administration: | Nonewhere I added the dutch translation to a menu item.Code
All Groups | menutree:menutreeblock: | (Navigation|Navigatie):(Administration|Beheer): | None
In your case:
All Groups | menutree:menutreeblock: | Main Menu:Administration: | None
to hide the 'Administration' link from the 'Main Menu' menutreeblock. Also be aware that permissions are case-sensitive.

Hi,
did you check the menutree developer Wiki page here? There is a Guide there as well. Describing the block, how to use, permissions, etc.

Teb, I tried it just as you said, and there's no change. I know there's got to be some very small thing I'm missing, but it's not the case-sensitive aspects; I've lost count how many times I've checked those.
Maybe it's not the permissions that's the problem? And yes, I've checked the documentation, the Wiki, and the guide, as well as the forums. The problem with all is most here have a huge jump on me... you have at least some basic knowledge of PN. The documentation seems to -start- with that precept in mind. :(
I'm no stranger to the overall concepts. 20 years as CNA/S and nearly a decade as web admin. My hunch is I'm making this a lot harder than it actually is, but I feel like I'm in the woods.
Teb, if you or anyone who's using MenuTree would like to log in and take a look, feel free to email me and I'll let you in. At this point, I don't know WHERE the problem is! ladyshyra at tryskelion dot com
BTW... this forum isn't dizcus, right? What forum s/w is being used at this site?
Thanks!

I figured it out... amazingly enough. I added dh as a regular user and found he could see the menutree, yet I knew there wasn't anything I could have screwed up in the permissions after your help here in the forum, Teb.
So I started looking for differences between what a regular user saw and what an admin could see... and the one big change I'd made was to use a different theme for the Admin Panel than I had for the site, itself. I changed the Admin Panel theme to match what I was using for the site, and voila! the menutree appeared as if by magick.
I'm used to the Admin Panel being (more or less) a separate entity from the rest of the site. Had no idea they were tied together so intricately with Zikula.
Using the site's theme (Dream Place) for the Admin theme is a pain because it cuts off the last column on the admin pages, but I can think of more than a few ways to work around, or even solve, that.
Now... on to figuring out HOW to get my content ONTO the menutree! (LOL)
Thanks for your help, everyone... and thanks for not making me feel out of place around here... -

Compare the theme templates
That's on my list. The theme template needs some column width adjustment anyway...
