Track & Field Wijchen  Bottom

  • Hi,
I finally have converted my track & field site from pn764 to zk111. Check out www.avwijchen.nl.
It is a small track & field club in the east part of the Netherlands. I'm a long time athlete there and the current website is my volunteer work.

The site is in Dutch, so you have to use your imagination if you don't speak it icon_smile
The theme is updated from an old pnThemeYaml version to BlankTheme, the menu has been updated from dynamenu to menutree with a cssplay prodrop menu. The menu is using image sprites as well as current tab functionality, which is not by default in the cssplay menus.
2 self-made modules (Wedstrijden-competition and Records) were already pnAPI compliant in the PN site, so worked out of the box also in zk111, that was nice icon_smile .
Postcalendar has been imported into TimeIt (Club->Jaarkalender). I'm using Addressbook (sorry to hear that thomas passed away recently icon_frown ) and the import of the old pnAddressbook worked out ok. News 2.4 of course icon_wink . The static content pages are done with Pagesetter Static-Content, since that is what I used in my pn764 site, but I intend to convert that into the Content module or Pages.
Formicula is being used for some of the enlisting for a specific training forms. For example this form for enlisting a training) (they are live, so only looking icon_smile ).
I'm using the combine into 1 file hack in ticket 1041 by Jusuff, although @imports in style sheets don't work yet, so BlankTheme out of the box doesn't work with it yet.
Some things to do still: livetabs for rss feeds, modalloginbox (standing ready, but I don't want to load prototype on all pages yet), photo module updates, css/js combining updates.

Zikula does work great and the advantages over pn764 are really great.

  • Wow Erik, splended example of the capabilities of Zikula and the capabilities of you as programmer / theme designer. Love your work!

  • Very well done, a fine example for the advantages zk 1.1.1 has over old PN 0.764. I specially love your navigation menu solution - very clean and intuitive.
    Greetings,
    Chris

  • Hi Erik,

Looks great. On thing I noticed is that some menu item titles in the second level don't fit in the width on my Ubuntu / FF3. Seems you need to make the width of that second level dynamic icon_razz .

Moving static content to Content or to Pages would allow you to use permalink URLs, and that would of course be very nice.
  • Thanks for the kind words icon_smile
I still need to get one of the dynamic width menus in the menutree templates icon_wink Too bad Stu Nicholls has made his dynamic width and the latest menus not free to use on a non-commercial site. A bit restricted.
But there are other solutions out there. I'm glad I got it all working, finetuning and optimization later on icon_biggrin
The permalinks and directory based urls are really nice, that would indeed be a pro of converting to Content. Besides the flexibiltiy of course. And Content is quite mature already.
