just a thought, might be useful to package zikula with something like wampserver for windows, it is under the GNU license so i think this should be possible, and just use NSIS or something to handle the install, so first time users who have never run a server before can just click away and play with it.
thoughts?

I rather think that there is something to be said for installing both separately. Zikula -- itself is not really designed with the entry level web designer in mind. Zikula is not the the quintessential 'Hello World'-web-application.
To me, at least, it would create more support problems than it would solve.
Just my 2¢

This is an interesting idea and if someone thought it would be useful, by all means go ahead. Having said that, I have to agree with David, Zikula is incredibly powerful and flexible. With that power comes complexity. To do anything important using Zikula you need a pretty good skill set (knowledge of HTML, templating, etc.). If you are just looking to use the software on a web site, there are lots of hosting services that can set you up with zikula. If you want to do more, like program a module, then you already know how to install it.
Just my 3¢ (preparing for the coming inflation in the U.S.)
