Weblinks 2.0 "An error occured while sending an email"

When I add a new weblink I get this message "An error occured while sending an email" -- the module is attempting to send a confirmation note back to the author of the newly added weblink. Is there any setting that I may have missed? I set up the Mailer module and tested it and it works fine. Any ideas?
