Dizkus?  Bottom

  • So I just want some clarification on the status of Dizkus.

At the moment the available stable release is pnForum 2.7.1 (uploaded almost 1 year ago) which, while it works is not Dizkus. The SVN of Dizkus is available but oh-so-far from stable.

I'm wondering if and when we'll ever see the release of the integrated forum for Zikula?

  • It would also be nice to know what issues remain with Dizkus - depending on our circumstances, they might not be deal breakers? Perhaps folks who have tried it would chime in with issues (not complaints - I'm not soliciting for a gripe-fest - just looking for a list of what things don't yet work).

  • I've not been able to get RSS2Forum working on my sites, tho I have switched servers and haven't tried since that. There are some CSS issues which I've submitted a patch for.

  • There is no official release of dizkus yet, but the version in the SVN repository is quite stable. Many use this version already with just little problems...

  • 1.) whenever I regenerate the modules list Dizkus creates another instance of itself and disables the old version. I have to delete the new instance in order for the original install to work.

2.) whenever I click on a forum to view the topics I receive this error:

    Quote

    The following error occured:
Error! Could not do what you wanted. Please check your input.
    Send bug report

    See for yourself:

#2 essentially renders the module useless.

  • #1: if you updated from pnForum, remove pnForum

#2: check permission, the problem is not reproducable here.

    A release is in preparation.

I got this too. Go do Dizkus admin and make sure all the values are set in config. Particularly the number of posts to show in a page.

  • What's the status of MediaAttach support in Diskuz? I just installed from SVN, and it seems to know what it is, I've created a definition for Dizkus, and on the comment form it appears and looks ready to go. But when I try and attach a pdf, it doesn't attach or upload. I've verified that MediaAttach is working for other modules. The file I am uploading is .5mb, and my limit is 6mb. Looks like it should be working, but it's not.
  • Also anything on the rss2dizkus.php error I reported? I've moved to a new server and the problem persists. I've looked at the code and I'm at a loss for why it's complaining.

With SVN version of Dizkus, and slightly modified test version of MediaAttach (not modified for Diskus) I was able to enable MA in the forum. It was not elegant-but worked, but I was heavy into to testing various things at that time. So it is possible to get the two to work together. I do not recall it being overly hard to do, either--just some template modification to ease MA integration. Sorry, dont have the test code, any longer.

  • It isn't necessary to integrate any code or patches anymore. I committed the code a few days ago in both modules.

Just check the latest Dizkus SVN and MediaAttach SVN (do not forget: changeset 209).

But please note: not yet ready for release!
  • I posted a ticket there, I tried using the SVN version but am getting a javascript error. The hide/show controls aren't there for the upload and video, and entered data isn't saved.
  • Yes, I saw your ticket. But did you read my comment there, too?
Are you really using the current SVN of Dizkus AND MediaAttach?
  • Thank you, no, I had missed your reply. While my version of MediaAttach is very recent it may not have been recent enough to include your patch. I'll get new versions from SVN and report back.
