Need help customizing the "Great Outdoors" theme I downloaded from here. The credits say, Design by designsbydarren | Zikula | YAML | CSS | XHTML . I've been looking for the links using Dreamweaver but can't find it anywhere. What ever happened to easy drop down editing we had in pn8? and wtf is YAML? I like the drop downs in the Administration template but would be more useful it it was on the home.htm template with easily changeable links. I've installed menutree and according to the help docs it seems to say that one can create a horizontal "menu tree", perhaps menutree is an option but how does one code it into the template? Thanks for the help. -

Hey!
'Great Outdoors' was ported to Zikula using BlankTheme
and it uses its features and the YAML (CSS Framework) to have xbrowser compatible layouts.
As you can read in this Wiki page:
http://code.zikula.o…wiki/DocsNavigation
You can use the bt_userlinks plugin to manage the links manually
or the navtop Block Position to put there a block like menutree or extmenu.
You choose which way to use from the /templates/config/themevariables.ini file, the $usemenu value: p to use the plugin, or b to use the block position.
An easy manageable drop down menu can be accomplished with the help of menutree, but if it's a simple menu, the userlinks plugin (/plugins/function.bt_userlinks.php) is more performant.
Ok, now tell me what do you think of this

Enjoy
That's the purpose of BlankTheme,
to enjoy our theme development and configuration
you need to check the layout settings
and change the columns distribution with one line
that's the power
hehehehe

I tried your tips, worked as you said, but was not able to create a horizontal drop down menu. The tried the plugin setting and links but seems to me I need to know PHP to modify the links. I like the Admin links drop downs and took a look at the code.
1. Can I cut and paste the Admin links into the user links to get the drop down list on the home.htm?
2. I was bale to use the navtop with menutree but was unable to get a "horizontal" drop down, there was only a vertical list template and no horizontal template for it on the block admin section. Thanks for the help. -

You can download more templates for MenuTree from the BlankTheme Page on the Cozi, there are several drop down/horizontal menus in it.

When News 2.4 is out I will (at least I hope to find the time
) check/update the latest menu things and add them to extdb. Cause there are also the extmenu templates that might be usefull to some, next to the extra menutree templates.
Did you also check out the menutree Guide on Jusuff's Cozi site? And the menutree site itself.
