Hi,
During the upgrading procedure are the old system variables still available in the stage where the pninits are called of the various modules?
To make it more to the point. I want to obtain the tipath (topic image path) which was obtained with pnConfigGetVar('tipath') in pn764 and set a News module var with that value to maintain the topic image directory if set already.

Obtaining pn764 pnConfigGetVar for upgrade to new setting

I got the answer already by looking at my 764 test upgrade site. The tipath is still there in Zikula and will be used as deafult value in News 2.4.
The var will not be deleted on upgrading News, since it belongs to the pn764 Topics module. So when removing the Topics module the var should also be gone and for News is stored in News
