Hi folks,
I once saw a module/hack for postnuke which enabled the the portal to receive/forward incoming emails to postnuke user's profiles/inboxes but I can't find it anymore.
Has anyone ever tried this or is there a module available around? Obviously it needs to interface with a "real" mailserver to fetch mail and organize mail aliases (and that isn't a simple task), but I just wanted to asked before I "hack 'n code" my own proprietary solution.
Regards,
LB

Has anyone ever done a "Email to Zikula" integration?

I realize this is an old post, but I'm going to reply anyway:
Have you ever heard of Xeoport? I've been playing with it recently, and have it basically working on it's own. It takes an email address and imports it to mysql. I've "upgraded" it a bit, so now it can take emails from a catch-all address, separates emails by the TO address, and stores attachments in a second table.
My next step is to work this into a Zikula module, with permissions based on the user login. If you're interested in seeing Xeoport so far, let me know. -

Appreciate the input :) Maybe you've got a source for that Xeoport script? The only link I've found is dead. -

I have a version of mailbag which was the original module if you want to take a look at it to help with your efforts. The .75 version broke it so it hasn't worked with PN for quite sometime. -

I appreciate the offer, but I think it's too far out dated anyway...I'm thinking the xeoport scripts will end up being an Ajax call from the Zikula module. -

I was thinking about MagicX's (Alexander Graff's) version of private messages the other night as I was working on the a theme for InterCom. If I am recalling correctly one of the last versions of that old private message module could also handle webmail.
Of course I was really daydreaming about how nice it would be if InterCom could handle email accounts as well. :) It would be pretty neat if Xeoport or what you folks might be working on could plug into the InterCom project if they were compatible.
I went looking for Xeoport, and there were some SQL injection reports about it a few yrs ago, but I imagine you are aware of all that and have made it more functional, by the sounds of things. So How is the project coming?
