Problem with e-mail notification of Forum posts  Bottom

  • Not sure what is going on here, whether it is new or temporary, but here's what I just noticed.

I got an e-mail announcing a post by vworld in this thread:
    http://community.zik…ewtopic&topic=55841

However, when I follow the 'browse this thread link' to the thread, her post is not there. But it is in the e-mail I got:

    Quote

J...edited out as it apears she deleted her post...

When I follow the 'reply to this message' link I get this error:

    Quote

    Content Encoding Error

My first thought was that it was just the e-mail notification that was broken - but then why is vworld's post now showing up in the thread?

    Curious minds want to know...

  • Could be she deleted the response?

  • Ah. Makes sense. Embarrassing that it didn't occur to me. I'll edit her quote out of my original post some assuming she didn't want the post out there. It raises a weird issue: if I post in a thread to which people are subscribed, but later think better of it and delete it, they will be notified of my posts (and receive the content) before I have a chance to remove the post. Ahhh, the wonders of the technology age. (I'm 61 and sometimes wistful for the slow days.)

But that doesn't explain the error message in response to:
