Secondarily, where would be the best first place for someone who did not develop modules for PostNuke to look for developing Zikula modules?
I am specifically interested in developing a bridge module to allow calling of back end modules (meaning modules that don't touch the user interface; for example, there are ecommerce packages like the free agoracart or available on many ISP's Miva that have API's or API-like devices which we could take advantage of if we had a general uniform bridging system).
I'm not thinking of anything too complex; starting off, creating an ini type file of the important current Zikula variables (i.e. using [section] and key=value pairs separated by newlines) and passing the file name to the back end would be a good start.

First try and see if they work under Zikula right now. If they were written properly, they may still work, tho I would definitely consider having them upgrade to the new standards asap because they probably will eventually cease functioning as the project continues to develop.

Look in the Wiki, there are basics to get started there, also Module Studio is supposed to be pretty good, I have some quirk in my system it seems that it doesn't like, but others have used it well. Also in the future, don't tack a mostly unrelated question on to someone else's post, especially before they get an answer.

Do pnHTML modules work under Zikula BTW? I also have some (selfmade) modules partly using the pnHTML. They're holding me back in upgrading, so if I could upgrade and update the modules later on that would be great.
Of course I can test if they work under Zikula, but if somebody has already tried it, that would be helpfull.

I'd test them, but I think pnHTML is removed at this point, but I don't recall.

I tested my older pnHTML modules and they still work (after conversion of some handmade date functions I used
). So upgradability gets a thumbs up for me. Now I can update the modules in a more relaxed time and still use the new 1.1. Great.
