Upgrade PN .764 to Zikula - Theme is broken.

Hi,

I tried the upgrade to Zikula with RC1 as described in its docs/upgrade.html.
After I commented out the entries in .htaccess file in root-Directory, which produced Server-Errors (Erorr 500) before, I could call the upgrade procedure and it worked. All upgrade tasks reported result "ok". In the end I got the first screen of the upgrade procedure again. I ignored the circle and called the startpage of the site then. It shows a broken "ExtraLite" theme. I can logon, but get no GUI to work with. I activated the debug-Mode in config.php, but this shows no extra output.

I would like to test the new *Zikula*-Version, but it's not possible in this state of the case. Can you give advice?

Either you have an incomplete upload or you have tried to overwrite your PostNuke directories.

Hi AmmoDump,

FYI:
I uploaded the RC1-Archive to an empty directory, because your upgrade-instructions tell me to delete all PN-Files before calling the upgrade.php.
I also switched theme to ExtraLite _before_ doing the upgrade the second time.

Then possibly it is an incomplete(corrupt) upload.

Alternately, it could be failure of the RC. I have not familiarized myself with it, sadly.

I would suggest that you try to new file upload (save your config.php) and try again.

thanks for your quick reply :)

I downloaded the tgz-Archive from the link given in this announcement:

I checked md5sum and uploaded the whole archive to the servers directory, where I unpacked it.
So I don't think, it will change anything, if I upload it again..

I wanted to give feedback onto RC1, which is done now. I will try again with the next RC. Of course I can test something or give further info on my case, if it is helpful for the development team.

Where do I find the German lang pack? I looked here: http://code.zikula.org/core/downloads and there: http://support.pn-cms.de/Article1198.htm
and downloaded Zikola-Full but there is only the lang "eng" included.
It's, the same with Zikula-1.0.2-ValueAddons.tar.gz. Only "eng" directories included.

Another thing:
I saw, whilst searching for the discussion about German lang here on the board.

The circle happens before the procedure is finished.
First step works, but the second step fails.
When I give my admin-credential for the next step, I got the Start-Screen again.

How to solve that?

Please take in account that you must not try to upgrade the same database twice.
If the upgrade fails, restore the 0.76x database backup
and try again.

I suspect that the cycle issue was already mentioned in other thread of the forum...

on the first issue: yes, I restored the fresh database before each try.
second: I found the circle thing mentioned in this thread:
