Problems with forums  Bottom

  • I want to install a forum on my new page
    but problems... problems... problems...

    PNphpBB2:
i like phpBB so i wanted to install this at first...
But i got a error message at initializing the module:

    Quote

An error has occurred during installation
The PHP configuration on your server doesn't support the database type that you chose

Thats not funny... hey, i installed Zikula, why should now the mysql not be supported?

Ok... no matter... there is another forum out there...

    pnForum:
all right, i installed it. The initalizing worked yippi
i made cathegories etc, anyhow cool... but well... i like the phpbb style more... this forum is "to big" for me. I would like it more compressed like phpBB
    but now the error......
I go to pnForum and see the cathegories. But as soon as i want open a cathegory it "opens" but all the forums go "out" of my screen and i cannot scroll down.. well..i dont want to scroll!
My side is not flexible for that...
    problems... problems.. problems...

What now? Install phpBB on my webspace and try to integrate it in my side? i would not like this icon_frown
  • pnForum issue is probably a conflict with your theme
any URL to see the problem?

In the other hand, you can go to the /modules/pnForum/pntemplates folder, and rename pnforum_user_main2.htm to pnforum_user_main.htm (renaming the original first) clear the pnRender compiled templates, and check the pnForum main again to see the table of pnForum Categories.

I'm using SeaBreeze. Your solution didn't work (or I don't understand it). Any other suggestions?

  • check again the above post, is edited.

The idea is that pnForum provides an alternative main template. It must be renamed to use the old table view... I was stressed when wrote that post icon_wink

    Old problem fixed. New problem.

    I have placed the line

    in /themes/SeaBreeze/templates/master.htm

If the line is not there, pnforum will not work properly. But if the line is there, whenever someone tries to login or register, I'm getting a critical error:
Smarty error: [in master.htm line 10]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'pnforumcolorcss' (core.load_plugins.php, line 118)

    Any suggestions?

    BTW, my site is http://www.midbergen.com

Last thing: In the documentation Wiki, does anybody know why does Hammerhead's avatar appear to me to be a photograph of me?

  • Woops
missing code, please use the [code] tags instead [i] icon_wink

I don't remember the pnforumcolorcss plugin, but anyways check the /modules/pnForum/templates/plugin folder and see if the file function.pnforumcolorcss.php exists. If not, that's the cause of your error.

The Wiki will be fixed, there are some issues like that

It's in the directory /modules/pnForum/pntemplates/plugin folder. I will try creating a modules/pnForum/template/plugin folder, put the file in, and see what happens....

    Didn't work.

    Here's the line in /themes/SeaBreeze/templates/master.htm

    Code

    <!--[ pnforumcolorcss ]-->

I am guessing that some sort of conditional would be useful?

Update: I got rid of the line in master.htm, and it appears that everything is working now.

    worked great icon_cool

    but another problem now...

The "height" of my middle block of side is not "flexible"

for example i want to "preview" my post in forum - it got cut off on a speacial height
or want to view my post... so it looks like this:
