Hi
I am runnig PN 750 Gold I am currently not able to migrate the site to Zikula version 1. However we are redesign the site layout and I need some pointers / answers to two questions.
Question 1 and most inportant. I want to display three blocks in the center column underneath the news posts with a RSS feed in each (using the RSS Feed block in block module) along with a Gallery random image in the center or at the very least each of the news feeds in their own block in the center. My question what is the best method of doing so and if anyone can give me a step by step instruction or poitn me to one that would be appreciated.
Second Question is it possible to have the first news post fill the whole center block and subsequent news posts in 2 columns?
Thanks

Why do you intentionally keep insecure outdated versions? If it is true that you are you "unable" to migrate to Zikula, do yourself a favor and at least upgrade to the latest still supported version of PN 0.764.
Coming to your question: That is easily done with a simple template for your theme - several of them are included in ready made Xanthia themes, so you don't even need to do the coding work.
Greetings,
Chris

Hey Dagnamit, I don't feel like talking down to you as if you were stupid and making you feel like posting here is a waste of your time, so I'll just try to help you with your problem if that's ok with you.
The version of Postnuke that you're using has some known security issues, so it's in your best interest to work towards finding a way to get yourself upgraded.
All of your layout questions could be easily handled by Zikula much better than previous version of Postnuke. I personally don't know off the top of my head about having subsequent news stories in two columns, but I'm sure that a solution is available.
The Zikula block layout options are as good or better for what you need.
The RSS feed support in Zikula actually works! I never got it to work as I assumed it would in Postnuke, but with Zikula it was totally painless.
Displaying a random image in a block can be done with Mediashare, which is available from http://elfisk.dk
Are you going to attempt to upgrade your existing site or start from scratch? If you're going to upgrade, you'll need to first upgrade to .764 before you make the jump to Zikula. -

Well, it's almost a waste Darryl
because mostly of us don't use .75 anymore
and that version is officially unsupported.
Dagnamit, what we can do for you
is help you in the upgrade process to Zikula 1.0.2.
Then, i can give you step by step instructions to play with the layout changes that you want.
It needs time but absolutely worth and indispensable

OK SO with some pain a little trauma and the loss of weblinks I have migrated the sites to Zikula version 1.01 and in tend to go to the latest release.
I managed to retain some legacy modules, but in essenc econtent surved intact.
Now for the theme.
Essentially I am looking to try and creat on teh home page the following in afixed widht three column site.
This is for the home page. For the master page / forum etc I wil simply use the basic three column fixed width layout...
For thre homepage I would like to do something a little different.
In essence...
Header
leftbar (menu login and one or tow images)
Main Content As follows: News ontop. If I could have the first news item large then the subsequent ones in two columns that would be great but will settle for normal default for now. beneath that 5 RSS feeds and a gallery random block, PostCalendar event information list under that with a banner ad to the left or right. Depending on how I place the gallery block.
So from the top in center column it would be news, then RSS Feeds, Gallery image, Event Information, Banner Ad in line with Postcalendar.
Right hand block advertisements / banne ads.
Bottom footer.
The question how hard would it be abole to set this up and which Zikula theme is it good to start from. I quite like Seabreeze adn hae started editing the theme to fill layout requirements.
ANy suggestions?
Thanks for your comments and suggestions, so far. -

Very nice to hear that you're in Zikula now Dagnamit!
Now i can help you with the layout.
I guess you can join this thread and hopefully add an image like michiel. THen i can tell you how that can be done with ease. Consider to choose a BlankTheme based theme from our Theme Gallery, and read the other thread
