First time using Scribite...HELP!  Bottom

  • Hey all. Currently i have just install the scribite module and trying to get it set up to work with pnForums. Currently i have set the default editor as the openwysiwyg. Loads fine and allows me to enter my information. Seems that there i no problem when replying to a topic that has already been started. The problem comes up when i try and start a new topic.

Once i hit the submit button i receive a popup box that says:

    Code

No textarea found with the given identifier (ID: message).

After i press ok then this shows on the page:

    Code

Error - The topic you selected does not exist. Please go back and try again.

    file: /home/*********/public_html/test/modules/pnForum/pnuserapi.php
    Line: 2357

Any ideas? I tried the other editors and they load fine, but once i finish witha reply to a post or start a new post, if i hit the submit button it just sits there with the other editors.

This seems related to your scribite configuration,
but i don't get the order of the facts.
You have to get this error message after load the page
    not when submit the form...

    Code

Error - The topic you selected does not exist.
Have you tried to submit a new post/topic with scribite disabled and it works?

    detaliled steps please icon_wink

Ok this is what i done step by step with the scribite. Hope this helps.

    1. Uploaded to my site, installed and activated it
    2. Added the to the head section, at the end, of the theme in my master.htm and admin.htm.
    3. Went to admin panel Default editor is xinha. pnForum editor is xinha. xinha settings default for now

If i edit the module i have this:

    Code

    edit module

    module name: pnForum
module functions (komma separated, "all" for all funcs):viewtopic, newtopic, editpost, reply
textarea-ID's (komma separated, "all" for all areas): message
    editor: xinha

Cleared/deleted cache on pnrender and XTE. Refresh the page. When i go into the forums the xinha pops up with no problem at all, i can type in my information use the functions etc. But when i go and press the submit button it does nothing but sit there.

If i press the preview button i get:

"You must type a message to post. You cannot post an empty message. Please go back and try again." icon_confused

If you want to take a look then here is the link:

    http://www.nocturnal….php?module=pnForum

Just off the top of my head. Would this have anything to do with magic_quotes or register globals? My provider has these active on the site hosting i use. If so i'm sure i could ask them to turn it off.

Any help would be appreciated. icon_smile I'm a little frustrated with PNphpBB2 and there are no other forums modules available for Zikula.

    Many thanks icon_wink

  • Quick update. I changed to use the fckeditor cause i like that better. Having the same issues as above but the editor works great with crpCalendar, FAQ, NEWS etc....no problems at all with them. icon_confused

Seems like it doesn't like pnForum icon_frown

  • Mmmmmm
    i don't know
never used scribite in pnForum, but you can use 'all' instead 'message' in the textarea ID

but the second error seems to be the usual template error in that pnForum package,
and i've posted a solution that worked for me in this thread:
