g day zikulans,
fairly new to Zikula. I need to implement a google (or something elese) map application. Heard bout the MyMap and now i wonder if this runs in zikula 1.0xx
Any live demos out there - any implementation ...

Anyone running this module in a zikula 1.0.xy - how to implement
On the Cozi page there is nothing said how to treat the module - how to implement it
and install it.

good day - thank you for the quick reply. Well i hope that we can solve the issues.
well i grabbed the module and uploadet,installed and regenerated the module. Then i went to the site to administer the module: http://www.mypage.com/index.php?module=MyMap&type=admin
Please choose the provider you want to use on your site. At least one key for one provider has to be stored here!
API key to use Google Maps: ... well: it seems that i have to get a API-Key from the google-Team. How to proceed if i have this key. I want to make the map showing in one of these two modules:
a. pages
b. content
is both possible. Do i have to make a Hook!?
The Install-Instruction of the MyMap-Module says;

If you want to enable the insertion of maps into other modules
like pnForum, Weblog, News etc. please activate the MyMap hook
for these modules
If you want to include a map in a pnForum posting for example
just write ::mymap::5:: to display the map with the id "5".
hmm hmmm - whatever that means
Well i want to run the map in one of the both modules
a. pages
b. content
-,... It would be nice to insert the pages module like the guy did on http://www.packie.de (light)
BTW: (if we are looking at the hooks:) Well - if i go to the hook-panel of my site - i can read the following

This administration category is empty. You have probably ended up here because you have administrative access to a module which is not in the default administration category.
hmmm - do i need the hooks?! Or do i do neet them not..?

i have achieved the API-code from Google - tried to fill in the code in the configuration of the Module. if i click on "Update the module" then the page returns with the same fields....

it seems that there is something missing... I am pretty clueless. And as i have to get to _connet_ the module with some others - to appear in the

As we have almost no demo-site with map-inclusion i would love to add my page to a demo or showcast forum....

conclusion: if you like then you can have a look at the page.- i sent you an PM with the login data to the page - and the API-key... which seems to be difficult to add to the administration-system...!?

If your google API key is on your page, then you are good.
What happens when you try to use the module? Is there an error?
Lets worry about setting up a map before moving them into other modules, first.

many thanks for the quick reply. I see that there is a huge progress.
As for the API-key: no glue what went wrong.... What about the domain-name. Can the
domain-name cause any troubles!? I am not sure - we have an ___ä___ in the domain-name. Can this character cause any troubles!?
Anyway i will try to get a second key and will insert this new key in the admin - interface... Then - if all goes well the map that you created will appear in a propper way, doesn ´t .
Hopefully i will get a second key - for the same domain. I will come back here an let you know how i proceed.

hi again - hello quan, thanks for the information.
well the troubles with the key are probably very obvious.... Heard that others have had that troubles too. The domain-name seems to run into troubles - have to translate the name into the punicode.... http://mapki.com/wiki/Punycode
i will see what i can do - with the punycode...
BTW i also am owner of maedchenhaus.org - perhaps i try to achieve a key for the maedchenhaus.org - name... Doe this work?
i will try it out later today...
BTW - any ideas how the guy on http://www.packie.de/ created the special way of appearance ... it looks nice and neat...

David, i am almost sure that you are right... I took the punycode for the domain, mädchenhaus.org - which is http://xn--mdchenhaus-q5a.org/
i generated a new key at the google-site

and entered it at the admin-site of the mapsModule. The system told me that the data were updated correctly. So i am ready to test now...
Hmmm - i guess that i try the trial-site that you linked in your posting. I will try out if this works... If not, i will try to change the domain-settings in a quiock way so that i can make sure to get the map-things running....
But for now i try the map that you have created some hours ago... Hmm - if i succeed , the map will appear - doesn ´t it. Let us see.
I come back and report my findings.
update: well i thougth theat the key is right. But not at all... This was told to me when i created the key:
