I have two problems with MediaAttach.
Zikula .8.0.0 RC3
Andreas08
When I upload files as admin, I cant see the files in Category view. I can come across them when I access the user area, sort of.
What I actually want is just a complete list of all the files in the category view where users can access and download files as needed (like a normal downloads module)
Secondly the MediaAttach block doesnt show up in the main page side bar, although it does turn up in some of the other modules - buggered if I can figure that one out.

I have now upgraded to z1.0.1 and I still have the same issues. Sort of looks like a permissions problem but there are no permissions related to MediaAttach that I can see that would effect the block?
Maybe I am missing something simple? -

Okay there are two separate issues I am struggling with.
1. I can't find anywhere or how, to display just a straight catalog of downloads available from the site. The link returns the categories but shows them as empty. When in fact there are about 10 or so downloads in the system.
http://lcc.edu.au/in…?module=MediaAttach
2. The Latest Downloads block only shows up when you access the MediaAttach module, it doesn't show up on any other modules. And the links to the files dont work. The link that is associated with block is
http://lcc.edu.au/in…splayfile&fileid=12
However when I change the func within the link from displayfile to download - voila - it works.
http://lcc.edu.au/i…=download&fileid=12
So, to summarise. I am looking for a way to display all the downloads, by category, in a one page summary and I am trying to display a working latest downloads block on every page - not just the MediaAttach module.
Cheers
and TIA

Okay, and my saga continues.
Under the Categories Module, you have the option to redfine paths in the Category Registry (seriously above my pay grade here) and the tables referred to are ma_files, ma_formats etc. However I was able to discern that those tables dont exist and in fact the tables are actually mediaattach_files, etc. I changed this direct in the database and seemed to have an effect, but not exactly what I was after - where would I change the category drop down listing of ma_files etc?
I found the reference to ma_files in a few areas and have now changed them - still no improvement.

My MediaAttach on my test site does return a cats list with with items..
http://dpahl.com/index.php?module=MediaAttach
Nothing exotic here... The visible ones here are outside the Admin.

Okay. What do you mean outside admin? Did you create a normal user and upload files through that account?
The block you have on the right doesn't show on your mainpage, which is the same problem I have and the downloads from that block down work either, which is also a problem I had. -

Yup, I was checking against my site.. and you are correct. I will check the block functions, probably a bad mod call. I will try to find the issue tomorrow. It is late.
I meant 'Admin Upload'. But looking again, just the categorized ones are showing. Not sure what your issue, maybe here.

Thanks mate, I'm pretty sure that the uploads Ive done are all categorized but dont want to show up. How are you 'categorizing' them when you upload? MediaAttach is set to use the category's module and each upload has 3 options to select from (which I use each time I add an upload)

I only assign none or one category at upload.

Okay, Ive reinstalled MediaAttach - and still get the same issue.
I can get a straight list of downloads, but nothing shows up when I select categories.
Here is the link which shows the list of downloads
http://lcc.edu.au/in…esc&itemsperpage=20
And still no luck with the Block display on the front page -

Continuing with my million monkeys theme, I managed to get this working - and I truly have zero idea how that came to be - go figure.
Anyway, so now I have the list of MediaAttach files listed by category showing up okay. Is there a way to filter out certain categories? There are some files which I use MediaAttach to pin-up on the site but I dont really want them viewable through the general list of MediaAttach files list by category. Is that confusing?
PS The side block still doesnt show-up, I may need to employ a million more monkeys. -

I have not forgot about the block issue. I have made some quick talk of it with Axel and Mateo, but not a solution as of yet. Feel free to file a bug report, of course.
