EventLiner 1.0 RC3 released  Bottom

  • We are pleased that we have now so far the last EventLiner RC for Zikula.
    In the SVN we are now in revision 110. That does not mean that there are no bugs, but we have tested and fixed a lot of details. It now runs without some show stoppers.

    1. Features

    * Week, month, day, detail view
    * German, English, Spanish translations
    * Category administration on Zikula
    * Installation as prescribed by Zikula
    * Clean import of PostCalendar 4.0.3, 4.0.4, 5.0.0 Open Star
    * RSS feed
    * Category-based color coding
    * Date of the handover in Zikula contained jsCalendar
    * Full pnForm and Hooks support
    * Support Scribite
    * Configurable day beginning Sun / Mon.
    * Maps can be sufficiently precise address details of the event
    * Holidays can be easily entered in the long file
    * Moving holidays are calculated
    * Invitations to events can block manner or by e-mail
    * Standard configuration of a module
    * CSS based style and theme-able
    * Validated XHTML 1.0

    We need to mention that the repetition of the dates has some improvements. The calendar is designed to schedule the dates when the event is repeated with the help of JsCalendar. Simply navigate through the months and select each date (max 14). Since the last changes of Gerd in the pnForm dateinput plugin are not there currently, to use this feature put the file /pndocs/function.pnformdateinput.php in the /system/pnForm/plugins folder. Please read the install.txt.

  • Congrats, nice work.

    With crpCalendar, EventRiner and TimeIt there are some great calendars available already. Finally updating the heavy PostCalendar.

  • Yeah!
    And i'm sure that the upgrade script from PostCalendar data to EventLiner works perfectly.
    Robert and Gerd did an excellent work there, then i give my $0.02 to get this:

  • Indeed great work, but I'm a bit confused....

    What is the big difference between crpCalendar, EventLiner and TimeIt?
    Which one should I use if I'm in need of one... icon_smile

    Thx in advance...

  • I'm not sure asking the authors of EventLiner will get you an unbiased opinion. icon_biggrin icon_biggrin icon_biggrin icon_biggrin
  • Of course it will, first I know who the developers are, decent people, maybe they have tried the other modules and had a different view.... or there was something substantial missing...

  • all 3 have their pros and cons.

    unfortunately none are 100% what i need (yet).

    i need/want good repeat functionality.

    but i also need/want simplicity on the user add form.

  • hi,

    if you know a better way let me know and don't forgett to discribe the simplicity.
    I'm looking forward to your Ideas.

  • PostCalendar Actually had a good model (Timeit has it implemented i think).

    simplicity.

    if we could break adding an event into steps:
    step 1: General Data (Title, Date, Start Time Category, Price, Contact)
    step 2: Upload Image
    Step 3: Invite Users (i think crpCalendar and EventLiner allows this)

    remember how 762 they had module initialisation in steps, something like that.

    out of curiosity, which project are you affiliated with?

    PS i have developed modules and done hacks, i knew the old system (726 - 762) throroughly.

    i just recently decided to come back to postnuke, so i still learning the zikula API.
