The Frustrations of Browser Compatibility  Bottom

  • I stumbled on a cartoon today that is incredibly appropriate for those of us who design themes and templates. Ever heard of Bob The Angry Flower? I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that this cartoon is EXACTLY how I've felt many times in the past...

CAUTION: Fowl language is used, so avoid the link if you are easily offended.
  • LOL
Good one, and lucky for me I'm not easily offended...

  • That's pretty much my day in a nutshell.

  • Yup!

Am I suppose to plug BlankTheme here?

It is not fair to blame HTML. It is solving the CSS, isn't it?

  • LooooL
yes, that's the reason to build BlankTheme
to can have a "skeleton" based in a popular CSS Framework,
adapted to the ZIkula Theme Engine
and with some cool Xanthia-magic stuff

I'm not suffering right now with x.browser compatibility
(just when i completely mess up the default YAML stuff icon_razz )

  • Its just freaking IE and the amount of stubborn people who refuse to stop using it
  • LMAO oh thank you I needed that hehe.

This translates to module development as well with an infinite amount of server/php settings available. I can't imagine the frustration the core team must encounter with differing environments and extension possibilities.
