Hi all,
I am an absolute novice in website hosting and designing, and I have recently launched www.FitnChic.com - G…Shape, Fashionably! It is a website on Fitness and Fashion.
I chose PostNuke becasue of the following features:
- The ability to configure it
- Add modules for extra functionality
- The permissioning system
I have also added a few other modules like htmlpages, pnforum, pnBook etc.
Please do have a look at the website - www.FitnChic.com - G…Shape, Fashionably! - and feel free to suggest ideas to make the site better.
Thanks!
Note: PostNuke version 7.6.4

Very nice. Is this really your first site? Mine definitely looked by far worse. You can actually find content!
I wonder what you do with 2 years practice

Not my preference of colors
... and I do wonder what the colored pencils have to do with..
Anyway, content is to the point. No extra bells and whistles. So rather good for a first site.
http://www.fitnchic.com/themes/detic_llapis/style/style.css
At about line 46, change:
list-style-type:disc;
to
list-style-type:none;
Good job. Keep it up.

Nice site. Interesting topic as well
to make some suggestions
it might be nicer to widen the central column a little bit, it's a little crowdy and the actual content is pushed away
and in the footer you could move the text to the left, which removes the need for the white bg of the copyright text.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for taking out the time to look at my site and for providing feedback. Its very encouraging for a newcomer like me!!
David - Since this website is for women, I chose a color scheme that's girly.... not surprised it didn't appeal to you
The pencils came with the theme and I really like them
Thanks for suggesting the stylesheet change.
Craigh - No... I didn't create the theme. It took extensive googling
Kenshino - My hosting provider gives PN .764 as a part of Fantastico distribution. So, I guess I will have to stick with this version! Thanks for the suggestion, though!
Espaan - The central column has floating width. I will try to reduce the width of the right and left columns to make it look better. Great suggestion about the footer - Will definitely implement it! Thanks!!
Thank you all once again and please drop-in at my site every once in a while and suggest improvements!
Regards,

On line 211 instead add the list-style-type as none for # tablist li
That will remove the bullets from above the tabs...

No you're not stuck with .764. You can choose to install Zikula 1.0 and as Kenshino said, better to do it now while the site is new than down the line when there's more things to go wrong. If you have Fantastico, then odds are you're on a CPanel host. I have to find it, but I have a restore file you can use to upgrade your site to Zikula.

Hi mhalbrook,
If you can find the restore file, please do share it with me. In the meantime, I will also try other ways to upgrade. Thanks a lot!
David - Thanks a lot for the solution. I was wondering about it myself!
