The simple answer is off course adapt the theme so that it looks good in Firefox as well. Internet Explorer (6/7) is usually the browser you have to do special things for. Safari, firefox etc adhere more to the w3c standards.
But it is hard to say from a distance without a link or screenshots or description.

Perhaps you should let us view the theme without having to download
But as a general advice, make no mistake, while IE7 is still used by a majority of users, such users are usually not as IT-inclined and a large number of these make use of the net only for office usage.
If you want to appeal to the crowd that are always online, it'd be foolhardy not to adapt your theme to Firefox. Personally, when I see a website that is not displayed properly on Firefox, even if it is 2 clicks to change to the IE engine, I wouldn't do it.
Looking at the amount of people who use Firefox now (Firefox has aimed to hit 5 million downloads in a day) and in which we can conclude at least 5 million people use Firefox, do you want these amount of people to not view your theme properly?
